Mosquito control: Bti, between science and industry

A miracle solution for controlling mosquitoes in the 1980s, Bti is nevertheless not without indirect effects on the environment. In this thematic issue, researchers from the Tour du Valat present the limits of its use.

44 years of waterfowl aerial census in the Camargue

 

Tour du Valat researchers have recently created an animation showing the results of waterfowl aerial census carried out by the CNRS since 1976, and then taken over by the Tour du Valat, in partnership with the Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB) and the Syndicat Mixte de Camargue Gardoise (SMCG).

While there are increasing reports of species taking advantage of the confinement of a large part of the world’s population to venture into urban areas, this calm also has adverse effects on biodiversity and wetlands.

Composting for limiting pollution inputs to Ammiq Ramsar Site (Lebanon)

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Government of France have decided to postpone the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2020 in Marseille to 7-15 January 2021 from its original date of June.
